We discuss our fav bits of nerd news: a couple of new Star Wars movies in the works, Jack Black joining the Minecraft movie, Tom Cruise teasing Top Gun 3, Fox making an Elf Quest Animated series, and Gretta Gerwig making the Chronicles of Narnia. Oh! And Paul Giamatti went to eat a burger at In and Out after winning a Golden Globe, which was so cool! For bingeing, Big Pops has been watching Reacher, and the Jack Reacher Movies, Echo, Center Seat, Monarch, and Hoosiers, as well as listening to the book on CD “As You Wish.” Sis watched Ted Lasso, Invasion, Rebel Moon, West Wing, and started Silo. She has enjoyed listening to the audiobook “Blue Like Jazz” by Donald Miller. Then, Pops shared his pull list! This week he introduces us to Action Comics 1061 by DC; Fantastic Four Issue 5, Legacy 708 by Marvel; as well as Swan Songs: Poems About The Ending Issue 6 by Image. His new number 1 is Dark Horse: Masterpiece by DC. His Book of the Week is Ultimate Spiderman Issue 1 by Marvel. This week we reviewed the TV show Invasion on Apple TV+. We discuss our fav bits of nerd news: Amazon Prime TV is going to start having Ads, Netflix is re-doing the anime One Piece, Mickey Mouse has entered horror due to entering the public domain, and Hannah Waddingham has been cast in MI8. Pop’s shared a new Alien’s “ABC” book for children, “The Man Who Laughed” is entering the Public Domain and Pop’s is hypothesizing some Joker spin-offs as a result. Paramount and HboMax may combine into one super streaming service, Fantastic 4 starts shooting in March, and the cast of the Sandlot did a 30-year reunion softball game for charity. For bingeing, Big Pops has been watching Superman and Lois, IN the Center Seat, and Monarch, as well as listening to the book on CD “As You Wish.” Sis watched Ted Lasso, Invasion, McMillions, and Let Us Prey. Then, Pops shares his pull list! This week he did a year-end review, ranking his fav stories from Image, DC, and Marvel, and his favorite all completed stories. His favorite Image books were Local Man, Something Epic, and Click,Click,BOOM! His favorite DC books were Knightwing, World's Finest, and Batman. His favorite Marvel books were Daredevil, Unleased, and Iron Man. His favorite overall books were Dr. Strange as the War General, Batman: Robin Lives, and Eight Billing Genies. Nicholas Hoult is going to be Lex Luthor, a Minecraft Movie is coming out, and unfortunately, Andre Braugher, the actor who famously played Captain Holt has passed away. For bingeing, Big Pops has been watching Hobbit and LOTR live-action films in order, Home Alone, Santa Clause 1, 2, and 3, Silver Bells, and listening to the Hobbit on CD. Sis watched a ton of Christmas Movies: Elf, Christmas Chronicles, Klaus, Polar Express, National Lampoon, Power Puff Girls, Miracles on 34th Street, George C Scott’s A Christmas Carole, and Love Actually. Then, Pops shares his pull list! This week he introduces us to Flash Issue 3 by DC; The Incredible Hulk Issue 6 by Marvel; as well as Giant Robot Hellboy Issue 2 by Dark Horse Comics. The Taylor Swift concert movie is winning the box office, and Netflix has a squid game reality show, plus a lot of new horror movies coming up, T-Swift might be in Dead Pool 3, and there’s a new Fall Out TV-show coming out on Amazon Prime. Unfortunately, a class of 4th graders watched Winne the Pooh Blood and Honey, Nate Bargatze was on SNL, there’s a 48th anniversary showing of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and there are new Ted Lasso barbies. For bingeing, Big Pops has been watching a lot of sports, as well as Fixer upper, he watched Over the Garden Wall *twice,* Invasion and is reading Spawn. Sis watched the T-Swift Movie, Adventure Time, Dune, Memento, and is listening to the audio books, “The Power of Habit” and “Digital Minimalism.” Then, Pops shares his pull list! This week he introduces us to Batman Superman Worlds Issue 20 by DC; Iron Man Issue 11 by Marvel; as well as Space Usagi by Dark Horse Comics. His new number 1 is Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong by DC. With his Book of the Week being Issue 5 Click, Click Boom by Image. We discuss our fav bits of nerd news over the past couple of weeks: One Piece Season 2 has been announced, there’s a Bee Keeper movie that looks cool, A24 is going to turn Paris Hilton’s memoir into a movie, and Robert Rodriguez is talking about Atlita Battle Angel again. Apparently Blue Beetle did very bad, and Asoka was the most streamed TV-Show in September, plus there’s some more fantastic 4 news.
For bingeing, Big Pops has caught up on Invasion, started the One Piece Anime, The Blind, and is reading the comic Invincible the flash movie, and is really enjoying the TV-show Invasion. Sis is listening to the audio book, “The Power of Habit” and has been listening to Exorcism Podcasts, she has been enjoying watching Adventure Time. Then, Pops shares his pull list! This week he introduces us to batman Issue 128 (Legacy 903) by DC; G.O.D.S. Issue 1 by Marvel; as well as The Sacrificers Issue 3 by Image. His new number 1 is Transformers by Image. There are also a couple of cool new video games coming out soon – a Bluey sandbox adventure game, and Tales of the Shire, a cozy Hobbit game. For bingeing, Big Pops has watched the flash movie, and is really enjoying the TV show Invasion. Sis is still listening to the audiobook, “Good to Great” and is enjoying watching Welcome to Wrexham, Elemental, and is (unfortunately) watching a lot of football. Then, Pops shares his pull list! This week he introduces us to Green Lantern: War Journal Issue 1 by DC; Amazing Spiderman Issue 34 by Marvel; as well as The Cull Issue 2 by Image. For bingeing, Big Pops has been watching the TV-show The Last of Us and Invasion. He also has been doing a lot of reading, he’s enjoying the comic book “Black Science” and the science fiction novel “Rendezvous with Rama.” Sis has watched Equalizer 1 and 2, Gravity Falls, Twilight, and You’ve Got Mail. She also has been listening to the audio book, “Good to Great.” Then, Pops shares his pull list! This week he introduces us to Batman/Catwoman, The Gotham War: Battle Lines Issue 1 by DC; The Immortal Thor Issue 1 by Marvel; as well as Local Man the Gold Issue by Image. We discuss out fav bits of nerd news over the past couple of weeks: so much media has been halted due to the strike, but A24 is back in production; we talk Five Nights at Freddys, Deadpool 3 having Cassandra Nova in it, Vanessa Kirby being cast as Sue Storm, and Lin Manuel Miranda starting a new musical of the movie Warriors, which Sis learns is nothing like West Side Story. There was also a fair bit of comic and gaming news this time – Post Malone bought a Magic Card for 2.6 million dollars and some interesting stuff about Hulk Hogan. For bingeing, Big Pops watched the Star Trek: Strange New World musical episode quite a few times and he finished Secret Invasion, which was not his favorite. Sis has been listening to a lot of audio books, like As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of the Princess Bride and Living with Less, she also watched her husband play Ori and the Blind Forest, as well as rewatching Gravity Falls. Then, Pops shares his pull list! This week he introduces us to The Adventures of Superman: John Kent Issue 6 by DC; Doctor Strange Issue 6 by Marvel; as well as Firepower Issue 25 by Image. His new number 1 is The Sacrificers by Image. With his Book of the Week being DC Black Label oversize comic Superman: The Last Days of Lex Luthor. We discuss out fav bits of nerd news over the past couple of weeks: Liam Hemsworth is going to be the new Geralt on the Witcher, WE also talk the role AI is playing in the writers/actors strike, and Sis shares the movies she has watched—Barbie, Oppenheimer, the new Mission Impossible, and the Sound of Freedom. We also discussed some new movie news: Pops loved the One Piece trailer and the Strange New Worlds Musical Episode. There was also a fair bit of comic news this time – in the fall DC is releasing a comic run where it is Monsters vs. Justice league, there is a giant sized Hellboy comic coming out in October, and DC is making 2 new animated features, a Watchmen and a Crisis on Infinite Earths. For bingeing, Big Pops has been watching Star Trek: Strange New World, Secret invasion, and the Silo on Apple+. He did check out season 2 of The Foundation on Apple+ but really did not enjoy it, and eventually turned it off. . Sis has been watching Adventure Time, Doctor Who, Undercover Underage, and Way of Water. She also has been watching her husband play Skyward Sword. Then, Pops shares his pull list! This week he introduces us to Knight Terrors Issue 1 by DC; Scarlet Witch Issue 6 by Marvel; as well as Radiant Black Issue 25 by Image. His new number 1 is also an Image comic, gamed Big Game. With his Book of the Week being Ace Blade by Fourth Wall Productions, an independent, creator-owned comic. This week we reviewed the Disney Movie, John Carter, which we thought was drastically underrated when it came out in the late 2000s.
